GameDings!

Help and questions.

The questions people ask, and a couple they probably shouldn't.

Do I need the internet to play?

No. Every game plays offline, all of the time.

Do I need an account?

No, there isn't one to make. You can sign in with Google Play Games (Android) or Game Center (iPhone and iPad) to keep your achievements there and see the leaderboards, but the games work the same without it. More on that below.

Where are my scores and saved games kept?

On your device, inside the app. If you sign in to Play Games or Game Center, your achievements and best free-play scores go there as well. Nothing else is sent anywhere.

Can I move my progress to a new phone?

There's no cloud save, so your progress lives on the device you played on. Play Games and Game Center keep your achievements, but not your levels or saved games.

I uninstalled the app and lost my progress.

Sorry, it's gone. Uninstalling deletes your scores, settings and saved games along with the app, and there is no copy anywhere else. Achievements you synced to Play Games or Game Center are still there.

How do I put my settings back to how they were?

Settings, then About, then Reset all settings. Your settings go back to how they started, and your scores and saved games stay put.

A game is too fast for me.

Try Game speed (down to 50%) and Timers (×1.5, ×2 or Off) under Assists in Settings. Snapback also has Casual. The accessibility page lists what each game supports.

The text is too small.

Text size goes up to 250%, and HUD size makes the score and readouts over a game bigger. Both are under Vision in Settings.

Word Flow didn't take my word.

Word Flow knows more than 128,000 English words of three to ten letters, British spellings included, but no game knows every word. With the Family filter on (it is, to start with), rude words don't count. If a real word wasn't accepted, send it over: [email protected].

Can I play with a keyboard or a controller?

AI Assault, Pulse Warden, Snapback, Prism Knot and Wisp all play with a keyboard and a gamepad. Word Flow and Survival are touch or mouse.

What is the Dings tab?

It's where your achievements, secrets and rewards land.

Are there secrets?

Yes.

How many?

GameDings! isn't saying.

Where are the Halloween and Christmas themes?

In Themes, all year round, and first in the list in their season. If the bats or the snow get too much, Theme effects switches the decorations and animations off, all at once or one by one.

Something went wrong, or the app won't start.

Close the app fully and open it again, which usually sorts it. If it keeps happening, email [email protected] with your device, the game, and what you were doing when it happened.

Google Play Games and Game Center

GameDings! has no account of its own. If you like, you can sign in with Google Play Games on Android or Game Center on iPhone and iPad. Your achievements then go to your profile there too, and you can see the leaderboards for the free-play modes. Only normal runs go on a leaderboard: Casual and assisted runs stay off.

Nothing else goes with them. Your levels, saved games, settings, words and secrets stay on your device. And you don't have to sign in at all: everything works the same without it. The Windows app doesn't have sign-in.

Signing in and out

Sign in from inside GameDings! whenever you like, and sign out the same way. Once you sign out, GameDings! stops sending anything. What's already on your profile stays there until you delete it (below). On iPhone and iPad, make sure you're signed in to Game Center first, in iPhone Settings, then Game Center.

Deleting what Play Games holds

Open the Google Play Games app and tap your profile picture. Go to Settings, then Delete Play Games account & data, and delete GameDings! under the individual games. (Or delete your whole Play Games account, which removes every game's data.)

Deleting what Game Center holds

Apple doesn't offer a way to remove one game's Game Center data from the phone. To have Apple delete it, ask at privacy.apple.com.

Deleting your progress

Your progress lives only on your device. To delete it, uninstall GameDings!, or on Android clear its storage (Settings, Apps, GameDings!, Storage, Clear storage). Reinstalling starts you afresh. Achievements on Play Games or Game Center stay where they are until you delete them there. The full steps are on the delete your data page.

Still stuck?

Email [email protected] and say which device you're on. Bug reports, odd words and general opinions are all welcome.
