About GameDings!
What it is
GameDings! is one app with a growing collection of original games in it, across words, strategy, arcade and puzzle. Some are quick, some are slow and thoughtful, and some are rather harder than they look (Snapback, mostly).
£1.99, once. No ads, nothing else to buy in the app, and every game plays offline. Word Flow comes with its Survival side as well, which is either a bonus or a warning, depending on how you feel about pressure.
The games
- Word Flow: drag one line through floating glass letters, in any order, to spell a word.
- Word Flow Survival: spell words to let the pressure out before the glass gives way.
- AI Assault: link server to server to take over the central system, or be the AI that stops you.
- Pulse Warden: turn your shield to knock pulses back into the emitters circling your core.
- Snapback: Breakout with no paddle. Draw springy lines to bounce the ball and light up a neon sign.
- Prism Knot: bend and mix coloured light until every crystal wakes up.
- Wisp: gather a glowing tail of sparks and bank it before the thorns get it.
Achievements and secrets
Every game has its own achievements, and there are secrets for the people who poke at things. Some of them reach across games, and finishing a set earns you something. How many are there? GameDings! isn't saying. They all land in the Dings tab, and your Wordhoard keeps every word you've ever found in Word Flow.
How to play
Every game has a How to play page that covers the lot, every power-up included, and in a level it tells you what each star needs.
Your way
Before anything makes a sound, Quick Setup asks how you'd like to play: bigger text, more contrast, colour assist with patterns, captions, less motion and no flashing, switch access, a slower game, longer timers or none. There are 20 colour themes, Halloween and Christmas among them, and three looks for the whole app. The full list is on the accessibility page.
Google Play Games and Game Center
If you like, sign in with Google Play Games on Android or Game Center on iPhone and iPad, and your achievements go there too, with leaderboards for the free-play modes. It's up to you. Everything works the same without it, and the Windows app doesn't have it at all. How it works.
Privacy
No ads, no tracking, and no account of its own. Your scores, settings and saved games stay on your device. The only thing that ever leaves it is what Play Games or Game Center syncs, and only if you sign in. The details are in the privacy policy.
